Bear Claw Red Spruce
About as rare as it gets.  No better top to use on your masterpiece instrument.

Bear Claw Red Spruce is very difficult to photograph.  Until finish is applied to the top the figure does not show unless the top is planed.  When cutting the tops from billets I planed sections of tops I know have bearclaw figure.  The pictures only show figure in the sections of the top that are planed, areas that have saw marks do not show the figure, though it is there.

One in a million top.  Loaded with figure.  Only the lower bout was hand planed, the rest of the top has figure but it does not show where it was not planed.  A Beautiful AA Top with heavy density, strong figure.
