Mandolins I currently build 4 styles of mandolins
and the H-5 Mandola.
The 4-1/2 and the F-5 Three Point are "original" designs. Original is in
quotes since the Three Point only differs cosmetically from the Standard
F-5, and although The 4-1/2 is a very different sounding instrument, it is still
based on tried and true instrument construction practices, and retains the
vintage mandolin form.

-
F-5
- Based on measurements taken from
several Loar era mandolins, these are built to produce a classic bluegrass
tone with more than enough volume to keep up with the loudest banjos.
-
The 4-1/2
- An original Smith Creek design that
combines the best of the F-4 and F-5 to produce a mandolin with a fat,
round, oval hole sound on the low-end, and clean, popping f-hole sound on
the high-end.
-
F-5 Three Point
- Another Smith Creek original, the F-5
Three point is basically a modified F-5. The measurements and
graduations are the same as the F-5, but the body shape is reminiscent of
the original three point mandolins.
-
A-5
- Same measurements and graduations as
the F-5, but without the fancy scroll and points.
- H-5
Mandola
- Specifications taken
from a real Loar signed Instrument, not just a blown up f-5.
-
